@Helen thanks for your reply. I’m sorry you’ve experienced it too. It was triggered by my dad passing away unexpectedly. I’ve also been battling an eating disorder and now it’s made me worry that I’m unwell. My mind feels in a terrible place and I’m not too sure how to deal with it. I’m really happy to hear you managed to tackle your thoughts❤️❤️
Sorry to hear you’re struggling. NHS Talking Therapies can help for health anxiety and feeling low, you can self refer in most trusts, or you can ask your GP to support you with a referral. Sending love x
Are you still pregnant? I had quite bad health anxiety when i was but have always suffered with my mental health. I'm under the post natal mental health team but getting discharged soon. They were amazing pre and post natal for me and have so much support available including loads of groups, different therapies and an assigned key worker you can contact really easily. They also have an emergency line that is 24/7
Big hugs. You will be okay. Xx
I echo what the other ladies have said, it’s always better to reach out for support and never suffer in silence. Your GP or midwife can refer you to your local perinatal mental health team where they will complete an assessment and work out a plan on how best to support you :) Saying this as a mental health practitioner myself working in perinatal mental health
I’m so sorry, health anxiety is horrible. I had it so badly when I was pregnant, after not really suffering from it before. Have you found that your anxiety has been triggered by something in particular, is it worse than it used to be? I’d recommend trying to find someone to speak to - the NHS will just refer for CBT which some people may find helpful (I didn’t). Ultimately, what helped me was time which I appreciate won’t work for you if it’s not related to a condition like pregnancy that will eventually come to an end and play itself out. However, realising every day that the thing I was worried about never materialised, and using that evidence as a way to challenge intrusive thoughts was the key to me being able to function. I wish you the very best x
