Is this normal?

I had my daughter August 2024* and I am still breastfeeding her. I came on my period 1 month after having my daughter and I decided to go on contraception (the pill) as I was not looking to have another baby anytime soon. I stopped taking the pill as I was becoming very tired every single day and me and my partner was not havenibg sex so I saw no point in it. I have not been on my period since before Christmas now & no I am not pregnant. My sister told me it might be because I am breastfeeding but I am a bit worried as when I had my soon I got my regular period back straight away.

You had your daughter in the future? 😜

But yeah it is likely because you're breast feeding

@Dominique OMG😭2024*!!! Your comment made me laugh

@Dominique okay thank you!!

17 months pp and still no period.

@Ashlyn are you breastfeeding?

More than likely due to breastfeeding. Some women don’t get their periods back until they stop, which can be years. I would book a GP appointment anyway, just to make sure there’s no other cause.

Yes!

My daughter is 6 months old now and I still haven’t gotten my period back, I am exclusively breastfeeding. However, I think it can vary by woman (or even by pregnancy/children) as I’ve seen many women in the group I’m in talking about their cycles starting sooner/later/different between children.

The bleeding when you were 1m PP could have also been your lochia still. Mine stopped and started a few times. Then my period started much later. So yes sounds super normal
