BF Babies - Nursing for how long?

For those still breastfeeding alongside solids, how long would you say your bub usually nurses for during a session? EDIT: More specifically in the morning and at bedtime.

Around 5 mins during the day and longer in the morning/bedtime usually up to 10 mins

3 or 4 mins in the day, 6-8 at night

Oh wow. Thanks ladies. I'm still over here with bub drinking 40m to 1hr.

It varies a lot but usually a good hour in the morning, maybe half an hour here and there in the day and an hour at night ❤️

Yeah same like 5 mins maybe 10 but always quick I can hear him gulping the milk down 🤣

I know, I can’t believe she used to feed for 30-40 mins every 2 hours. My girl is now 9.5 months and feeds twice in the day, I do miss being able to watch a full episode whilst she was feeding 😂

I miss being able to watch anything other that cartoons when he’s awake 🤣

@Cat ❤️🦄 Feeling slightly less alone. 😂

@Stef 😂😂 He has moments like this. The other night he only fed (popping on and off) for like 13m versus his usual hour so I got really stressed thinking he wouldn't sleep through the night. I ruined my whole evening for him to just end up sleeping 11.5hrs 🫠

@Georgia Nwabuko Honestly if I knew then what I knew now. I wouldn't have begrudged those marathon sittings of Netflix whilst he cluster fed and I felt like some sort of cow. 😂😂

@Stef We don't do screen time whilst he's awake (no judgement to anyone else, just our personal choice) so Mama watches nothing for most of the day. 😂🫠 When it's post bedtime though and I'm doing the food prep, etc. that is MY time.

What on earth do you do all day when at home haha 10 hours is a long time to fill

@Stef 😂😂 I should be clearer in that no screen time meaning programmes, YouTube, music videos, etc. A few times a week he'll have video calls with family - grandparents and cousins, etc. but mainly we do different types of playing, reading, visual cards. A couple of hours a day we'll also go for a walk/run errands. At least for around 2hrs a day he's nursing currently, which is split between the morning and evening.

It’s a lot isn’t it! To keep them entertained. Yeah we only have on kids tv or cartoons. Now the weather is getting better it will be easier to be out in the garden and parks etc won’t it 🤩

You are definitely not alone ❤️

@Stef It really is! 😅 Tbh it's mainly the tantrums I find the hardest right now though like when he chucks himself back so dangerously when I'm holding him. 🫠 As long as it isn't raining he goes out in the pram most days. I won't say it isn't difficult being out in the cold though when he's all wrapped up in his plastic cover. 😂
