How to stop breastfeeding

I'm really struggling with trying to stop breastfeeding my boy is boob mad. He is off and on the boob loads during the day - he has always been very 'snacky' rather than long feeds. He is combi fed usually one bottle from dad on the morning only about 4oz and similar before bed. Though if I try to give it I have a battle. Health visitor advised replacing one feed with a bottle - hard when he is so snacky and so on and off the boob but I tried this and he still wants boob after. They said don't offer but don't refuse - he is clinging to my top crying. Headbutting my chest. I don't know what to do. He is up loads in the night still. He is 11 months next week and things feel like they are getting harder

With my eldest I just had to say no. I had a snacker and a bottle refuser but it took me swapping the feed like it's been suggested to you and not offering boob instead. Eventually they get the message and will take the bottle better and drink more. Took a couple of months for us but once I swapped to bottles he slept through within a few weeks. We were up at least 4 times before the swap. Hope it all goes well for you.

With my eldest, he fed until about 4 and I had to put plasters over my nipples so there was a physical sign that it was stopping ❤️ xoxo

Maybe have a look at the breastfeeding mentor on Instagram. She's great and has lots of good resources to help xx

I’m following this because I’m in the same situation lol

Following because same

@Cat ❤️🦄 PLASTERS OVER NIPPLES. Excuse me?! Why has nobody ever told me this before?? I am getting my shoes on as we speak, this is genius 🤣

@Indy it's amazing! Stopped me from caving haha. I just said they were poorly and he would kiss them better haha xoxo
