How to stop breastfeeding

Can someone please give me some tips on how to stop I have been EBF my little girl for almost 11 months now, she’s never taken a bottle, I have tried in a sippy cup and she will take one sip then wont drink anymore. She started going nursery 3 times a week a couple weeks ago and I thought this would be my opportunity to slowly wean her, she refuses to have any milk at nursery and is still highly dependent on my boobs on the days shes at home and also when she finishes nursery I have tried to refuse her and offer her the sippy cup/bottle instead but she goes from 0-100 really quickly and will start crying and head butting my chest and trying to get to my boobs. I don’t know what to do😭 seems impossible at this point (not to mention that every-time she wakes up during the night and notices she is not on my boob she will start crying ect…)

If you’re done you’re done and that’s totally valid but during such a big life change (starting nursery) is a really tough time to try and wean. When my son started nursery he became boob obsessed he used it as a way to feel close to me and connect after unfamiliar time apart. This settled over time as we all found our new normal. You’ll likely find it much easier and gentler if you wait a few months for him to settle and be a little older with a little more understanding. At this age they just don’t understand why their comfort all their life is suddenly being refused so they become very upset and frustrated. At 11 months they still need milk so I’d say minimum try and make it until 12 months and then at least you don’t need to worry about formula etc! Best of luck x

Following as I’m in the same boat with my 15m!

They become obsessed with the boob when they are start nursery they want to catch up the missing time … LG is 18 months and we are in the same boat maybe a little bit worse 😂.. I tried to stop recently by putting lipstick in my boob and saying it’s dirty. … after 15h of no boobs she started banging her head in the wall and crying for it so I gave it up .. I am having to take a week off to try again
