@Alex I'm native American, but incredibly white passing. I always get nervous about treatment due to race because I know my mum experienced so many issues with my 3 siblings and I. I also worry about ill treatment due to my age, I'm 19 and I know people make all kinds of assumptions about my situation despite this being a planned pregnancy
Go see Birth Detroit the first and Only free standing Birth center in Detroit you can have all you prenatals done with the midwives and birth at a good hospital or with them if you choose. Or anywhere else just not there please
I had my baby girl at 34 weeks in November I was all by myself (it was super unexpected) and I absolutely loved it the nurses took great care of me and my daughter. I am Mexican
I loved this hospital! I was born there so I wanted my child to be born there as well. I moved to Florida and I wish I could deliver here again, I was also 19 when I was pregnant and 20 when I had her. They were very nice, taught me a lot, The rooms were very spacious and comfortable, my OBGYN was also located in this hospital.
Not sure what your background is but as a woman of color I got treated like dirt lol! I had my baby back in July and I was ready to leave recovery 2 hours after I had her. Maybe it was just my shift of nurses/doctors, but they were VERY unprofessional. God forbid I had a question about my baby they acted like it was such an inconvenience for them to do their jobs, felt like an animal
