Manual or electric?

Thinking about Pumping breastmilk for my baby and can’t decide whether to get aa manual or an electric pump. Is there any much difference in how much milk they get out? Is it painful? And how do they work😅

Electric pumps aren’t painful at all and work very well in extracting milk efficiently. Manual pumps will strain your hands/wrists and need more effort and time, which isn’t practical in the long run. xx

I had like 5 different pumps . Cheap one from Amazon , that wasn’t great . Kissbobo hands free from Amazon , okay but not for long term use , 2 manual ones - medela & lansinoh both great , amazing output but bit of a workout 😂 good when travelling too or when you are out and about . And lastly my most favourite electric one Medela Swing - great pump , amazing output but my partner accidentally broke it 😂

IMO, I got more with the manual, but the electric was easy. You don’t have to get an expensive manual 😊 I bought a cheap £5 one off Shein and bought a nipple flange, and it worked amazing. For it not to be painful you do have to measure your nipple to make sure you have the right flange size. It’s really easy though, plenty of tutorials xx

Like the above comment I too get lots more milk with a manual pump. This is my second time breastfeeding and pumping and so, also like the above, have had a combination of electric and manual. Electric and hands free is extremely convenient, the best one I had was the Pipetta which is also pretty reasonably priced. The best manual was the lansinoh. Hand pumping is a commitment, both feel pretty bovine but it is boring and certainly gives your hands a workout but I get double the milk in half the time. Do 10 mins on each breast and get 140ish mils a session.
