I’m in the same boat but my son is 11 months. I was hoping he’d grow out of it but from what you’re saying that doesn’t seem like it’ll happen on its own. We also try rocking and it sometimes works but both my husband and I are back to work now so we really don’t have the time nor patience to be rocking for hours during the middle of the night.
In the same boat 😭
@Sharon so tough isn’t it. We’re both so tired today and gave in again last night as I couldn’t bear how long it was taking and how upset my daughter was. At a complete loss with it
I think between the ages of two and four they naturally stop
SAME.
Every day we say we’ll be stronger, but when you hear him screaming like that… you give in! Because you don’t want them to be distressed at all. So hard.
Do you put her back into her cot or cosleep with her? I end up bringing my son into the bed but I don’t sleep very well when he’s latched on all night.
@Sharon I had this problem with my son, he would latch on and stay all night like I was his dummy, hurt my whole body doing that
It's awful when the mother is ready to wean but the baby isn't. Is there a resin you have to force it too early?
@Steamtrane Family awful how? Wouldn’t consider it too early either. Everyone has their own preferences
Sorry yes I know they do ofcourse and you do what's right for you, maybe awful is the wrong word I'm good at that 😅 more like makes me sad that mums are sometimes forced to wean when baby isn't ready for their own needs maybe work etc and I understand why people do aswell
I'm the same except I'm not ready to give it up but currently being forced to by injury, feel sad but hopeful will continue once healed
