Cravings while Breastfeeding

I have been on such a pastry/cookie kick since breastfeeding! Is this normal? Lol I feel like I can’t stop baking cookies and banana breads and craving a sweet treat all day. Is it a mix of boredom just being home with the babe and also inherently needing more calories? We all eat pretty healthy (whole food based/ lots of proteins and veggies) but still just always want a little treat 🐷✨

Same girl same! I am always wanting the sweet stuff! I’ve had to work hard to limit my snacks. I always just look and see what the best snacks for supply are and try to make those fit my cravings. Don’t get me wrong I still indulge in other things,but my constant ones are breastfeeding friendly.

At Costco they have these thin mint cookie balls! TO DIE FOR! You are not alone with the cravings 😆

Haha I am in this same boat! Cookies, chocolate and icecream is all I want!🤣

Yes ma'am lol

@Haleigh oooo what kind of treats? 😍

Girl I gained 20 pounds so I’m on a duet now 🤣

@Sam the Walmarts around me sell munchkin brand lactation cookies, then peanut butter toast, trail mix, Oreos, moon pies, oatmeal cookies or creme pies, whole grain caramel crisps, and uncrustables. I pay attention to what ingredients people say help and I try to get snacks with those in it. Like the Oreos and moon pies have soy lecithin, the nuts in peanut butter and trail mix, oats, and whole grains. I have a pretty good supply too. I pump after baby breastfeeds and I get an extra 15-20 oz a day to stash if I need it. I hope this helps❤️

@Haleigh omg so many ideas!! Thank you! 🙌✨

@Sam you’re welcome 🫶🏼

Same!!! Honestly idk how other moms are loosing weight while breastfeeding. I’m just gaining crazy all because of these cravings while breastfeeding

Boredom and breastfeeding for sure lol, terrible formula. I had to stop buying Nutella because I’d go through half a big jar per day! I know it’s easier said than done but don’t buy/bake what you don’t want to eat haha I turn to pb&j when I need something sweet, but the PB2 powder as it has less fat and over half less calories than others. On an apple&cinnamon rice cake. You can also always look up low cal high protein sweet treats. Just know that at the end of the day it’s okay to treat yourself from time to time!

@Asal I’ve lost all my baby weight in less than two months with both my babies-breastfeeding. I think it has a lot to do with how your body handles it honestly. I ate like crap first postpartum and now second postpartum I ate one meal per day on a good day and the weight loss was the same.

@Aleksandra ugh I know! Def will be better/more mindful of what treats I make 🙈 PB&J’s always hit!!
