We were admitted in to hospital when he was 5 weeks old as he’d spend hours screaming and turning purple then passing out, he was in absolutely agony. He was awake 18 hours a day because he was crying and screaming in so much pain, he was pooping around 20-30 times a day and they were all extremely mucousy. I cut dairy out my diet as breastfeeding and he is a different baby, he also has a prescription formula for the time I don’t breastfeed x
My LG has symptoms that gradually came on rather than straight away. She had a rash, mucus in her stools, throwing up after bottles, unsettled during/after feeds, colic and crying constantly for long periods x
My daughter didn’t have any rash or mucus in her poo… none of the “typical symptoms” We were admitted to hospital at 7 weeks old when I was EBF for “faltering growth”… basically she had lost so much weight even though I was feeding her constantly. We were told to top up with formula for a week and she couldn’t keep anything down at that point, as soon as the formula hit her stomach she would projectile vomit to the point her stomach was empty and she’d only bring up mucus. She was put on infatrini for the calories which was partially hydrolysed but she was still having issues with constantly being sick (but not like before). No one ever suggested I go dairy free and instead I was almost encouraged to stop BF, It was only 4 months later a doctor listened to me when I said I think she had a cows milk allergy. She had what sounded like a lot of mucus on her chest when she was breathing. He prescribed neocate and within 3 days every symptom disappeared. Trust your gut!! Xx
Rash, screaming when he had cows milk, mucus in his poo. We have our milk challenge next week i'm really hoping he doesn't have an allergy xx
Eczema, rash that looked like prickly heat, mucus (jelly) in their poo and sometimes blood. I had to be very firm with the drs. It took 4 different prescription milks before she stopped reacting.
