Does milk just dry up when still feeding?
@Steamtrane Family My supply has been dwindling down since finding out I was pregnant. Not everyone is the same, but typically, the hormones decrease milk supply. I am currently 10 weeks along with twins.
Thank you that makes sense Congratulations by the way🎊🎉✨💐
@Steamtrane Family Thank you!
I made it to 6 months ebf both twins even with my 16.5 month old around. I found once you get the hang of tandem feeding it gets much easier. I only stopped breastfeeding Twin A at 6 months because she had a couple bottles of pumped milk and then never went back to boob, Twin B was ebf up until 13ish months and wouldn't touch a bottle. I pretty much pumped about 10 times total and tbh that was specially of I was having my SIL watch them for a couple of hours or if I wanted to have a just in case feed in the freezer. The only difference I noticed was that I was way hungrier than when I breastfed my singleton 🫠
Please message me if you have any questions!! - @evolveingrace on IG My twins are just over 10 months, still exclusively breastfed. They started refusing bottles of pumped milk around 2 months. I would suggest to latch as much as possible the first couple of days/weeks and have a lot of skin-to-skin. I started doing that once they started refusing bottles and that helped my supply - I was also pumping but I preferred nursing over sleep deprivation to pump (I kept missing my alarm in the night). I realized I had an over supply compared to under supply when the twin were in the NICU and I was away and couldn’t latch as much. For tandem feeding I used twin boppy pillow but mostly the my brestfriend pillow. There are also twin carriers that have both babies in the front so that made it easy to tandem feed on the go or with visitors near.
I managed 6 months and then my supply couldn't keep up, I had to power pump twice a day and I fed them one at a time, tandem feeding its strange sometimes 😅 one boob has a different flow and the babies get distracted with eachtoher ahhaha xxx
