Nap time

is anyone else struggling with nap time! how long does it take for you to get your baby down? I used to be able to lie him down and he would’ve self straight away but now it’s a hassle and it takes about an hour or he’ll just skip the nap and be cranky all day. he has started throwing his blanket out of the crib, trying to climb out of the crib and getting his foot stuck in the rules. Is this toddlerhood😭

I’ve never lied our son for him to fall asleep alone, but I’m also on a sleep struggle bus. Boy is too busy to sleep. He is my second, so there are stroller naps, falling asleep in the car naps and just snuggling him in bed naps. Right now going to sleep in the evening is a struggle too… I hope it’s just a phase and we are back to normal soon

we’ve had to resort to driving our baby around in the car or walking around in the stroller or carrier. she’ll only go down w her grandpa lol so mommy and daddy have to get creative

@Morgan lol thats so funny because we gad to resort to that last weekend. I was like i don’t remember having to do this in the newborn stage😭

We just started our daughter on a new sleep routine due to fighting sleep and just generally taking forever to go down. Note, we’ve never done sleep training and have rocked her to sleep until now. I see her fighting sleep as a sign that she is ready for more sleep independence. We now do our routine, lay her down in bed, remind her it’s sleep time (quiet mouth, quiet body), give a kiss, and leave the room. We come back every two minutes to check on her and reset her. Day 1 (nap time) took 35 min to fall asleep. Day 3 nap time took 15 with only two resets. I call the method “boring and consistent”. After the first and second reset, say nothing. And keep coming back every two minutes. We’ve had no huge tears with this method and it’s starting to work really well. Way less time before falling asleep.
