Tantrums

Does anyone's baby throw tantrums? My little boy will screech so loud and throw his arms and legs around when he's having a tantrum E.g if I take away a toy or something he's holding. It's becoming quite frequent and it's worrying me that this behaviour will get worse when he's a toddler and I don't know how to control it at this stage. Obviously there's not much you can do or say when they're babies but anyone have any helpful tips?

The only thing I've found that works for now is distraction. I just pop another toy in front of him or point something out to him. It usually works but then mine throws a fit when I put him down sometimes rather than take something off him.

I just let my LO have her tantrum (obv making g sure she's safe) and get on with what it was I was doing e.g. if i put her down and she starts tantruming I just say she needs to wait and then do what I was going to do, then give her attention once she is calmer. This is just working on not reinforcing tantrums with attention, but tantrums are obviously normal. Like Simone says distraction can work too, like if she's upset if I take something away e.g. her chewing something g she shouldn't, I offer something else

This is normal for them to get upset when you take something away now, it’s because they are learning that there is things that they enjoy and realising when something is gone so it’s actually a good sign he’s acting like that!
