Biting while feeding
My lo is 17 months and he is BF.
These days he has been biting my nipples so bad that my left nipple is literally bleeding.
There are blood stains on my t shirt.It’s extremely painful.
There’s no window for it to heal as he wants to feed from it.
I don’t know what to do and why this is happening.
Is he not getting enough milk?
Also he prefers the left to the right.

At 17 months they can also stop nursing altogether
Mine does this whenever she is getting a new tooth! Once the tooth breaks through she doesn’t do it anymore till she gets another new tooth.
My daughter did 2 hard bites at 15 months and that’s what made me finally say I was done nursing. I am also pregnant and wanted a few months to have my breasts to myself We cold turkey weaned. There was 2 hard nights, but then it got better. When she would wake I offered her water, snack, a book, or a small toy. After the two days she was back to her regular routine but without nursing
Not saying you should wean, but putting it out there as an option. I hadn’t really thought about it until my mom said I could wean my daughter lol

Mine does this when she’s teething and it gets worse when she’s tired, too. When she would bite, I would calmly unlatch her, tell her not to bite me and stop nursing. I also figured out that if I gave her a teether, she would hold it and take breaks from nursing to bite on that.
