Milk ladder

We have started the milk ladder with my nearly 10 month old. Started with the malted milk. 1/4 and worked up and we’ve noticed he’s been a bit more sick and his skin has flared up again. Would people say this is a reaction to introducing and increasing the malted milk? Still so new to it all 😫

Was his skin one of the original symptoms or did this develop later in life? If original this would be seen as a reaction and ultimately a fail to the step 1 ladder. You can’t try again now for another 6 months. My son was trialled on the ladder at 14 months and failed on the malted biscuit too. Our paediatric consultant told us no more exposures again until his body has recovered in 6 months

His skin was one of the original symptoms. How did you know it had failed?

Yeah I would say so my little girl suffers eczema so that’s her main way of showing , my little girls fine with malted biscuit , butter but anything else gives her bad belly and bad skin our consultant told me not to stress they’re only little and give it 2 months to let everything get back to normal as it takes a while for things to get out of system x

@Hollie oh really. They say sometimes it might be that they can only tolerate so much don’t they. My little boy hasn’t been sick like this since the start of it all. Projectile this morning which just isn’t him anymore. His eczema has flared up so bad again. We are going to a group next week with other parents who are using the milk ladder organised by dietician so we will speak to the dieticians there then xx
