Appointment to discuss birth

I have an appointment in 2 weeks to discuss birth, I’ve already stated I want an elective c section. This my second baby and first was very traumatic in covid etc I was induced and labour never progressed … nothing at all after 5 inductions so had a section. They were so vile even then about a section. I’m worried they’re gonna try talk me out of it. I’m so ready for them to fight me but at the same time I’m worried about it.

If you’ve had a previous caesarean I doubt there’d be much pushback if you wanted another one- they’d be more likely to talk you out of a vbac! Especially if it affected your mental health etc, they do take that seriously. I have a friend who had an elective caesarean for her 2nd, after a traumatic vaginal birth for her 1st and they were fine with it! 🙏🏼

Stand your ground, you know your body best !

Hi Rachel, you’ll need to Google it for England but in Scotland we have a legal right to a C Section. My friend is a medical lawyer and she told me to quote the case name and that should be the end of the discussion, eg I am entitled to a C section thanks to the Murray law (can’t remember the actual name I’m afraid) and I’m exercising my right. In the end I didn’t use this for my first c section and stated other reasons for wanting it but it made me feel more confident knowing it is my legal right to request one. Stand your ground, you’ve got this!
