Quantity of breast milk in bottle for newborn

How much breast milk should baby be having per bottle feed at 10 days old? And is there a general ‘rule’ on how much they should have as they get older? We are led by baby at the moment but she can just keep chugging and I worry she’s having too much at times. This isn’t the end of the world currently as she’s underweight, but want to get this right when she’s back to birth weight…

@Emily That’s really helpful, thank you!

Make sure you are using the slowest flow nipple for the bottle, or the slowest flow that baby can effectively drink from. It should take baby at least 15 minutes to finish a bottle. My baby was drinking no more than 2 oz until at least 4 weeks. Then he was drinking 2.5oz until 6-8 weeks. He was drinking 3-3.5 oz for the longest time and still only drinks that much at 8 months. We recently just upped his bottles to all 4 oz and he refuses to finish most of them. I have to offer smaller bottles often. It’s better to feed in smaller quantities more often than larger quantities less often.
