Daycare Prep

The time has come. LO starts daycare Monday. He will be doing half days first two weeks, then transition to full days. This will be a big adjustment. What’s in your daycare bag? How many bottles / oz should I pack? What’s your pumping schedule looking like during the day if you breastfeed? Do you leave burp cloths / bibs or send fresh ones each day?

My daughter goes to daycare and I work in a daycare !!! My daughter is formula feed soo I send her 4 bottles she drinks 4 ounces every 3 hours I pack her lots of extra clothes diapers in cubbie and extra wipes !! She always has more in her bag too make sure you check wipes and diapers every week !! Also I bring her own crib sheet Monday and take it home Friday to wash

I packed clothes, burp clothes, bibs, a sheet for the crib, diapers, wipes, and a swaddle. I send five bottles of 3.5 oz of breastmilk though my son eats a lot. We gave daycare a schedule of when to feed him and I pump around those times. We leave the burp cloths and bibs there but only because they aren’t used much during the day. If my son had reflux or drooled a lot then we would give them new ones. It’s a lot to manage and it’s hard but it’ll be good for them and you in the long run! You got this!

Good luck w the transition! Daycares will usually have a list of what you need- diapers, two spare outfits, pacifier (if you use them). My baby is breastfed. He takes 4.5oz every 3 hours and I send him with 3 bottles. If you don't know how much your LO drinks, just start somewhere (4-5oz) and adjust as needed. I pump two times while at work. I will say my son is my second. I pumped every 3 hours at work with my first and it was A LOT, so I'm choosing to pump less and thankfully I'm producing enough. I did start pumping two months ago to create an oversupply. Bibs - I send two, and pick them up at the end of the week to wash at home Sleepsack - send one. Wash at end of week

How do you all pick your daycares?
