baby after c-section

How many months after your C-section before trying again for another baby. I’ve been told 2 years is the best to wait but my husband and I are on the older end and time is not really on our side.

I was told to wait 12 months before trying again

If time isn’t on your side, I’d just go for it - you may not conceive immediately after all. And, VBAC may still be an option and if not a C-section would certain offered to you if you discuss with a midwife.

I was told to wait 18 months before trying

I was told it’s best to wait 18 months but life had over plans for us, I’m currently 22 weeks pregnant, I’m going for a VBAC, I’ve had no complications and nothing but positive feedback from all appointments, I think 18 months is more of an ideal guide than an absolute must x

I was told to wait 2 years too but I got pregnant after 3 months of giving birth. We still went ahead and kept the baby and everything was fine the way it was supposed to be. I had my second c section in 13 months with no complications

@Adele how many months PP were you? I do want to try a VBAC as my last was an emergency C section as he wouldn’t progress past 8 cm and had pooped in the womb.

I was 9 months pp when we found out I was pregnant with our May baby. I had another c-section due to baby being big but everything was absolutely fine x

So I was 6.5 months PP when I found out I was pregnant, I’m going for a VBAC as mentioned and they’ve done nothing but support it, it’s a lot more appointments due to having to see different departments but as I’m still on maternity and not planning on returning until after this baby now I have the time, mine was an emergency c section last time due to a failed induction so fingers crossed there’s no reason you couldn’t go for the same! X

Same about 18 months we were told but midwife at hospital said some women get pregs quick after first one. Think it can just be a bit more risky as not healed all the way through but not heard anything against it. I’m so 40 next year so thinking to try and pop another one out (the sun roof obvs) soon too! X

Well I have a may baby and I have just given birth again to a March baby, so there's 10months between my kids and they were both delivered by c section with no complications after. They recommend 18months/2years, but i was OK. If anything my c section recovery this time is alot better.

I was told 2 years and I had a very normal section and recovery
