I had to order loads of Amazon because I couldn’t get enough from the midwife. I get between 15-20, 1ml syringes each time a collect it with my pump. Got just over 100 syringes in the freezer
I had about 80-90 when LO was born on 22nd. We took x5 or so to hospital in a bag of ice which was kept frozen for us and husband gave this to baby as her first meal when I was in recovery. We used more over th next few days and my husband went home to get more a couple of times as baby has a BIG appetite. Even coming home whilst my milk supply was establishing I would use a few syringes after each feed to ensure she was full. Now using it to moisturise any dry patches on her, for umbilical cord care, pretty much anything
There is no need to collect large amount before birth, any amount is great as it actually great tool to stimulate your milk production. Please keep in mind that it better to feed the baby directly from the breast after birth, colostrum syringe are great for cases of seperation between mother and baby but should not be a common alternative. Breast stimulation after birth is key for milk production progress. Here some info from our blog hope it is helpful https://mylee.life/blogs/mylee-blog/breastfeeding-the-basics
As many as you can fill up. There’s no harm having too many as you can give them to baby when unwell later down the line (within the freezer time limits obvs).
