Discharge

Has anyone discharged them self after giving birth? I gave birth yesterday at 9:13am got told someone would be around at 3pm to do all baby’s checks take the cannula out my hand, it got to 8:30pm and still hadn’t seen anyone so my partner had to go and tell someone to take the cannula out my hand as it was hurting! We still haven’t seen anyone for baby checks ive a 17 month old at home crying for me. They did say when they done baby checks we would be going home same day but we are still sat waiting!?

Have you buzzed/spoken to anyone? I would just keep politely asking every hour until baby gets checked.

I've discharged myself. Had emergency c section so had to stay there for 24hrs and had to wee normally after canula. Gave birth at 10pm , told everyone I wanted to leave at 10am when my partner arrived. All the checks were completed throughout the day

They ended up coming in my room and saying there was no one to do baby checks till 6am Sunday morning so ended up staying in for her to have them and got discharged around 10 am, think I was just annoyed as I had my hopes on going home to my little boy! Don’t think it would have been so bad if we got seen to but we got put in a room and no one come in to do any checks on me or my baby who had to be induced 2 and a half weeks early, the lady who walks around with the medication table just kept walking past my room and all I wanted was a paracetamol as I was in so much pain with my back. Glad my partner could stay so he could help and keep me company as I think I would of ended up discharging me and my baby x
