Preventing Recurrence: -Ensure a good latch to prevent friction. -Avoid tight bras or clothing that may put pressure on the ducts. -Stay hydrated and maintain a balanced diet. -Consider probiotics if you experience recurrent issues. If the bleb becomes infected (redness, pus, worsening pain), or if you develop flu-like symptoms (signs of mastitis), consult a doctor for treatment.
Thank you! I’ll have to mentally prepare myself to feed on that side - it’s so painful!!
Mine didn’t hurt but remained literally until I got pregnant again 2 years after I stopped breastfeeding 🥲
It was so painful! I kept dunking my breast in warm water in my bathroom sink and massaging. It gradually got smaller and less painful. I kept feeding her off the same side as it was more painful when engorged. It was very painful when she latched on, but then the pain improved.
Not to scare you but this was the first sign of mastitis for me. ICE not warm or hot. You may want to see a good lactation consultant because I went to one who gave me wrong advice. Also start taking sunflower lecithin. I would take the most you can and then some for maintenance once it subsides or if it subsides. Keep feeding on that side but omg I feel for you. It was so so painful for me. I hope your outcome is better than mine ❤️
I had 3 consecutively. Each lasting more or less two months. I had two on the same spot. One healed and then another formed on the same spot and now I still have a bump from where the two consecutive blebs were. I’m scared if I BF again for a potential future child that pore will be clogged because of this bump… the blebs caused constant clogged ducts back to back… if the clog resolved it was a matter of a day or two when it would be clogged again. It was a nightmare…completely feel you and I hope it resolved soon!
I struggled with this so much, how something so small cause me so much agony I don't know. Nothing worked that hot searing pain when I nursed was unbearable. One day in the shower I took a needle and burst it......did it help No it was still painful. I don't even remember how it when it stopped because it felt like I was battling this bleb for months.
1. Warm Compress – Apply a warm, moist washcloth to your nipple for 5–10 minutes before nursing to soften the blister. 2. Frequent Nursing & Pumping – Continue breastfeeding or pumping to help clear the blockage. Try different positions to ensure effective milk removal. 3. Epsom Salt Soak – Soak your nipple in warm water with Epsom salt (about 1 teaspoon per cup of water) a few times a day. 4. Gentle Exfoliation – After softening the area, gently rub the blister with a warm, damp washcloth or your finger to encourage it to open. 5. Massage & Hand Expression – Massage the affected area toward the nipple while nursing or expressing to help clear the duct. 6. Lecithin Supplements – Some mothers find that taking sunflower lecithin (1200 mg, 3–4 times a day) helps prevent clogged ducts by thinning the milk. 7. Sterile Needle Release (if necessary) – If the blister persists, a sterile needle can be used to gently lift the skin covering the pore. However, this is best done by a lactation consultant.
