I don't think it's anything to do with cows milk being bad for them before one as they can have it in cereal and porridge etc. I think it's about how nutritionally dense it is, breast milk gives him loads of nutrition whereas cows milk won't and will essentially just be a filler if you swap actual feeds to cows milk. Why don't you go for formula just for 2 months?
@Charlie he’s never had formula and only ever eaten organic home cooked food where I know all the ingrdiance I’m not a massive fan of formula at all personally, I might just book health visitor app see if doing cows milk just two days a week will do
@Aza my nan said about boiling the milk, I may try this thank you
Ahh I see and totally get you, it is obviously very processed and classed as a UPF. I have only recently introduced formula as I'm returning to work and have bought an organic one. Id pump but realistically it's just not conducive with work. At least first formula has certain standards to meet and meets the nutritional needs of babies
I'm literally in the same boat. However I spoke to my health visitor today and she's persuaded me to keep at it for another month or so before weaning off or just using formula for those feeds she needs topping up with (if I'm at work) HV said the reason behind them saying 1 is because their digestive system isn't mature enough to break down the protein in milk. Giving them this before 1 can cause them to develop allergies and intolerance because their body reacts to the protein xx
I haven't, but I did staring away when he turned 12 months. I would consult it with GP/nurse. Just because the milk you will give him would be raw and full of healthy bacterias but maybe his stomach isn't ready yet. Or if you don't want to consult it with your GP/nurse, then I would suggest you boil the milk to "kill" the bacteria. On the other hand, I didn't give my son cows milk I gave him, and still today, goats milk, because it is healthy, and there are studies saying that their milk is the closest one to ours.
