Feedings in a day

Hi mamas! Just curious as to other babies feedings. My 8 month old is now having 2 meals a day and maybe a lil snack like fruits in between. He drinks maybe 3 or 4 bottles a day. And takes 2 naps a day. He sleeps overnight for the most part except when he was teething(still is). Just wanted to see if this was normal or if he should be eating more like 3 full meals a day.

We try for 3 meals but 2 is more realistic. I don’t force him so today he didn’t eat much for breakfast and lunch was more of a snack. Dinner Is usually heavier.

We have 2 solid meals (I aim for offering one thing from each group) and 1 snack

We just started 3 meals.. I’ve read that by 9 months we should be offering 3.. but as with everything, I think that’s just the goal and not the ‘rule’. As long as he’s gaining weight and working towards his milestones I wouldn’t worry ❤️

Question, what do your ‘meals’ consist of? I think I should be feeding my baby more because he’s only really had rice, oatmeal, beef, puree veggies, and crackers!

@Cali all we’ve done thus far are purées.. fruit, veggies, yogurt & puffs. If you’re looking for more ideas or for what’s safe per age, ‘solid starts’ is a great reference. There’s an app and it’s on instagram. I honestly don’t stress it a ton bc milk is still the most important food for them at this age. But at the very least I would prioritize exposing them to some of the allergic foods at some point while it’s a more controlled situation (eggs, peanut butter etc)

3 meals + 4 bottles. The occasional teething snack in between if he needs it.

We barely feed solids i never use bottles when he’s with me i just bf but he’s at my grandparents while im at work and gets like 2 or 3 bottles there and i do share lil bites of what im eating with him. He’s more of a fan of our food than the purées. We only started trying solids i think at 7 months we are at 8 months now

We do 2 meals + 4 bottles (7oz each). Meals are purées, for example: - pea purée and pear purée is one meal. - oatmeal purée and apple purée is another He takes two naps: first at 9am and second at 1pm. About 1.5-2 hours each.

My girl is still mainly bf, but she loves her solids too. 2 meals a day is all she will want, though, and sometimes she refuses them and crawls over to pull my shirt down instead. 😂 I guess it depends on the foods too, she loves fruit, eggs, pasta I make with veggie purees/cheese mixed in, yogurt and waffles, chicken too. If I offer her just purees, she often refuses she seems to love texture for sure. She also eats breastmilk Popsicles for teething, usually 1 or 2 a day.

My daughter gets 2 to 3 meals a day but she also has snack time twice a day which are just Gerber snacks. Her food consists of a food pouch or an egg, most of the time it's meat fat, she loves rice, mangos, and steak. We don't give her a full-on plate, just one of those things daily.

No rush! Go at your/ your baby’s pace! My pediatrician said at his 6 mo appt he should be getting 3 meals a day which I wasn’t expecting and overwhelmed me. He got really constipated bc we went so quick into it. Definitely have learned for next kid! I’ve heard of some offering 1-2 full meals and then 1-2 “puree/ snack” meals just to get into the habit
