Baby becoming hysterical when left with dad/family members

My baby is just over three months old and has had a close relationship with her father and my family since birth. However, over the last few weeks she has started to cry and get hysterical when I leave her with anyone else (including her dad). This is making it very difficult for me to do anything (as in shower, wash my hair, do basic things). Has anyone else had this? Does anyone have any tips on how to change this? Or is it just a phase? I love her to pieces and obviously want to be there for her when she needs me, but I also want her to have good relationships with others and need to be able to have a bit of time to myself. This is also very upsetting/stressful for her dad understandably 😥

@Elena Thanks will try that. 🤞

Veeery much so ! Our Son would get very very upset the second I went to shower or basically do anything for myself 😅 Nobody has done anything wrong, and important that dad knows it doesn’t mean that his baby doesn’t like him ! They sense a lot of safety with mum and familiarity. For us it’s a phase which has started to get easier. If he fusses then my husband will bring the baby so he can see me and go « see? Mama didn’t evaporate, now we can go back to playtime !» The biggest advice I got is that it’s important that dad doesn’t give up, or feel discouraged to then leave everything to you. Pop on some sensory sounds or video to help out if you’re okay with some screen time.

Yep! Went through it about 3-4 months, and now she's 10 months she's doing it again 😑, it's exhausting! Thankfully she's starting nursery now for a couple of afternoons a week, so I'm hoping this will make things better

@Ida Marie aww that’s good advice. Thank you ❤️

@Rebecca Oh dear 😭 the health visitor actually told me today that it happens again around 9 months.. hope it gets better for you soon x

@Rebecca its draining! Thankfully she seems to have coped well at nursery so far, which I'm pleased about!
