Two different consistencies??

So, I just pumped after feeding my girly (on my right boob) and Reliable Ronda (leftie), who normally I end up pumping 2-2.5 oz from, gave me 4.5 oz?! While Overproducer Ophelia (right boob who girly fed off of) gave me 2.5 oz. However. This issue I’m actually having is in what looks like the consistency of milk in both pumped breasticals. Ronda(leftie) looks to be a lot of foremilk, while Ophelia(rightie) gave me a bunch of hind milk.. Has this happened to anyone else before where one boob gives more thin milk and the other, thicker?

Your right boob is more hind milk because you pumped after feeding. So baby had the fore milk whilst feeding off you and you’ve pumped the remainder of the hind milk which explains the consistency and the quantity you got in comparison to the left

@Katie oh my goodness. Thank you very much! I was like, wut the…?! Lol thanks!! Usually, I will pump in the middle of the day, somewhere between feeds (just to keep the supply up and stash going) but girly scootched her schedule a bit on me today so this was, like you said, right after a feed and girly went down for a nap. Now that I think on it, that might also be why I was so shocked at this cause I wouldn’t see it otherwise b/c fore and hind would usually look more mixed. Huh. Again, thank you very much for helping me figure this one out!!:)

@Ashley no problem! I’m not an expert but I’d say that’s the reasons behind it. Has your little one always took a bottle of expressed milk? My son is now 7 months and won’t take one

:) She hasn’t always, we started doing one every couple of days since she was like, 3 weeks old or so, just to familiarize and keep familiarizing her to it if ever I wanted my hubby to feed her for some reason, or someone else while we went out for a bit(haven’t yet, but I have had my hubs do the feeding a couple times). Now, she takes it after a couple of seconds like a champ:) I will say, that first time was rough. She clamped her lips closed and everything. When we first started, I ended up feeding her a boobie, then quickly switching it out with a bottle(as quickly as you can with these things lol), and we just kept trying with that. We’d take a break, then try again. She did take a paci, so that helped, but now she’s like, oh a bottle? Sure. Let’s do it. Lol

All that to say though, she’s only 3 months, but I will pump and feed a freshly squeezed bottle to her in the evening every other day cause the goal is once she is 6/7 months and teeth are a thing as well as now we’re introducing solids, we’re gonna switch over to expressed milk instead.😅 That’s the plan atleast 😅😅 With her brother, he was expressed milk from the start, so it was a way easier transition for him cause it was pretty much all he ever knew.😅
