Just keep putting baby on the boob to feed and eventually they clear it out. Because ot has already been 2 days, I would be tempted to call the GP as you do not want it to escalate into mastitis.

Hot bath and massage, green cabbage leaves, ovaltine drink or horlicks help with milk flow too, and if not just keep the baby on. Good luck, I know it hurts like hell x

Hi @Eliza may I ask what to do with cabbage leaves pls?

The advice has changed to now use a cold compress and ibuprofen as it’s believed to be inflammation

What worked for me was getting on all fours to pump and lightly massaging. If you're breastfeeding baby on the boob you can try getting on all fours with them under you feeding directly from the boob rather than pumping. Google "dangle feeding" for more info.

I had the same! I put baby on the boob as much as I could and it helped x

Keep putting baby on the boob, i had a hot bath, massaged and then tried to keep hand expressing until the milk was spraying out again

I have had quite a few issues with engorgement and mastitis since I had my baby which thankfully has settled down now but as said above use a cold compress and ibuprofen as it's inflammation causing the "blockage" You can alternate to a warm compress before you feed to help the milk flow if need Also keep feeding as baby needs/expressing if you feel like you need it I also found that wearing a really loose/no bra helped a lot as nothing was pressing or digging into any tender spots If things aren't getting better definitely go to the GP as you don't want anything developing into an abscess and they can develop quite quickly!

I had this at about 8 weeks, I kept putting baby to breast and it was painful but he cleared it in about two days with no further issues. Try a warm shower to help with engorgment then feed baby. I would also call the GP if it doesn't start to clear in a day or so

Thank you for your advices. It gets softer but still very so sore. I took ibuprofen and will call GP this afternoon.

@Olivia wash them and then just place them in your bra. No idea how it works but it did seem to help me, I think it reduces the swelling of the ducks. Just leave them in your bra all day. Use savoy cabbage

I kept getting this until I started taking sunflower lecithin supplements. They’re magical. I took 4800 mg (4 pills) on the first day to clear things up, and it worked within 12 hours. Now I take 1200 mg (one pill) every night before I go to sleep for maintenance.
