Kids crying non stop when in a larger group.

It's normally just me and my husband at home with our kids 14months and 2 month old. Today I went round to my mums as there was a party. All my siblings and nieces and nephews where there. My kids cried non stop the entire time and would just turn their faces away and scream when anyone tried to talk/carry them. I was so overwhelmed with this and ended up coming home early and just crying my eyes out. Why are they like this? Their children don't seem to be like this. I feel so upset that I had to leave very early and miss the once chance I had to chill out with family. Can anyone relate?

It's ok! Don't worry about that girl, it's just they aren't used to crowds and all their senses are being overwhelmed! I'm a sahm and my 12 month has this problem too. What i started doing was going to the mall or playgrounds, just somewhere with crowds of people so he can get used to the noise. It's def helped. Other people still can't hold him but we're working on it.

ugh, I totally get it, my kids can be super clingy too in big crowds, it's like they forget how to socialize or something, and it’s so frustrating when you just wanna enjoy some family time! here's what the 'Heal Baby Care App' says.... "I'm really sorry to hear that you had such a tough experience. It's completely normal for young children, especially those as young as yours, to feel overwhelmed in new environments or around unfamiliar people. They often go through phases of separation anxiety, which can make them clingy and fearful in social situations. It's understandable to feel upset about missing out on family time, but remember that every child is different, and your kids may just need more time to adjust to new settings.
