Hospital bag

I’m currently 32 weeks pregnant and starting to pack mine and babies hospital bag… ( due 23rd may) I know the normal rule is 1 more layer than what you’re wearing. However with her being my first child I have no clue what to pack. And I don’t want to over / under pack. Any help would be appreciated.

As a massive guess, it will likely be warm in the hospital, so I’d say a hat, a vest + a sleepsuit in the hospital (you can easily add a blanket for transitioning to the car/to go home, etc). Likewise at home, you can always add blankets if you feel you need. But especially if baby is being held/cuddled/fed/nursed, this will be additional warmth.

I’ve packed 5 newborn sleep suits and vests, as well as three up To 1 month sleep suits and vests, plus a going home outfit in each size (leggings and a top) plus a cardigan. I have packed a couple of blankets, hats bibs socks and some Muslin squares xx

I packed 2 sleep suits, some vests and trousers, couple nappies from home, a blanket, a baby sling/carrier thingy and a coat for baby, and for myself I packed 2 pairs of clothes, colostrum syringes, pads for my bra incase I leak, couple of sports bras, a giant shirt for labour, 5 pairs of extra big underwear for the pads, some fluffy socks and a wash bag so I can have the after birth shower, don’t overthink it you really don’t need much as the hospital supplies a lot of it (don’t forget to pack medication if you are on any)

I’ve packed 6 short sleeve vests, 5 sleep suits, 2 cardigans, 1 blanket, 1 hat (my hospital give them you), 3 muslins, full pack nappies, water wipes, cotton wool balls (use with water for changing nappies at first), nappy bags and a mini sudacrem. This is my 2nd baby 👶🏻 Recommend 0-1 months which is upto 11lb, I have big babies and they fit 🥰

Sorry to jump on this but just making sure - are you all putting yours and babies stuff all in the same bag or do you have 2 separate bags?? Only asking because I've squeezed everything into one and it's literally exploding 🤣 x

@Nicola for ease, I’d use 2 definitely. Depends if you have the space/help to transport multiple bags.

I’ve packed 3 vests, a sleep suit, and then a little outfit for leaving the hospital (trousers and a matching vest top) but will also be bringing a blanket (and a few hats!)

@Nicola 2 seperate bags 🥰

Mine didn’t fit newborn last time so got vest and sleepsuits 3 of each in newborn and 0-3. Hats and blankets. That’s all 👍

Am 32weeks5 days I will start packing my hospital bag and baby bag next week
