Night bottle for comfort! Advise please

Hello, our 14 month old sometimes still wakes up for a night bottle but I believe it's for comfort as soon as she has it, she goes back to sleep. Has anyone still using a night feed to help get back to sleep? Anyone been able to breathe the cycle? I really want to break this habit buy not sure if i should go cold turkey or gradually do it. If we don't give her the bottle, she will cry and cry but maybe I just need to bare a few nights of no sleep to break the cycle??? Help please

I don't bottle feed, but if if was me I would try to gradually give less and if it isn't working, try cold turkey x

Hello! 🤍✨ we had to break the habit of feed to sleep.. so giving milk 20/30 minutes before nap/bed time rather than to go to sleep… the naps were definitely easier than through the night.. but a couple of nights of comfort with hand through the cot (rather than picking up, milk, rocking etc) & she got it. ♥️ You’ll get there, just need to commit to it for a wee while to change the routine a bit. Sending lots of love! Xxxx

You could gradually water the milk down to see if that helps

I’m in the same position! I keep going to bed thinking ‘tonight is the night that I stick to it and don’t give in’ but I’m just so tired that I always give her milk as she’ll scream and scream, even when I hold her to soother her. I also just think it’s comfort as appose to hunger. I’m going to commit to cold turkey next week!

@Saskia yes! I am exactly the same! I think i will book a couple of days holiday from work so I can catch up on sleep if needed and go cold turkey 🤣

@Maggie I think it’s the only way to do it tbh! I’ve seen people say it’ll be 3-4 nights of hell and then it’ll be over!🤣
