What is it your missing about dairy? You could get an alternative? It takes atleast 2 weeks for the dairy to come out of your system so you’d be wasting a lot of milk and might have to top him up with a hypoallergenic formula if you can’t breast feed for 2 weeks unless you have a freezer stash of expressed milk x
i totally get that craving for some good food, tbh, if you just pump and dump for a few hours after eating something he can't have, you should be good to go! here's what the 'Heal Baby Care App' says.... "It's completely understandable to feel the need for a break while managing dietary restrictions. If you indulge in a meal that contains allergens, it's generally recommended to pump and dump for about 24 hours to ensure the allergens are cleared from your milk. However, the exact time can vary based on your metabolism and the specific food consumed. Have you considered keeping a food diary to track how different foods affect your baby? This might help you find safe options that satisfy your cravings.
Thank you all! I have found some great substitutes over the past few months but I was thinking my birthday could be a cheat day (possibly) so that I can make it through the next 5 months when he turns a year. I just want real pizza and my fav ice cream and queso 🤤 you don’t realize until you have to check corn is in EVERYTHING!
No, i haven’t tried eating dairy on purpose. This is because dairy leaves our system after 2 weeks. No matter how much dairy you eat , less or more it’s the same effect on your baby. I accidentally slip up and ate dairy from a restaurant and my baby was having terrible poops and gas, also fussy all day. So I didn’t want that to happen again. But I understand the cravings, maybe try homemade and substitute some nondairy products. ☺️
