We do an hour of low lights snuggles, maybe a walk outside. Then we put on a fresh diaper PJs then a story before laying her down in her crib.
when we had our june babe last year we had her in a bedside bassinet and woul watch tv at night! i would just roll her bassinet opposite so that way the light from the tv wasn't shining in her eyes. like instead of her normally having her head next to my head, i'd turn the bassinet to where her head was closer to my feet. and then move her back before falling asleep
When baby comes, you will just figure out what works best for your family.
your routine will definitely change at least for a little while. we would still watch tv while the baby was sleeping in my arms but it wasn’t an everyday thing. when they’re really small the tv probably won’t bother them, when they become more aware and alert it will though. you’ll just have to see how it goes!
We would have a rocking moses basket downstairs and watch tv then do feed and nappy change and take her up to bed. But you will find what works for you.
When my baby was sleeping in the room I always had the TV on. It was the only thing that kept me sane during night feeding every other of the night 🥲 I just turned the brightness to low
It will probably depend on your baby. We ended up dimming the brightness and relying more on subtitles when watching tv at night.
When my daughter was a newborn we watched a lot of tv with her. I was quite sensitive to stimulation so I actually watched things on silent with subtitles, but my partner would watch action movies and things 😅 when she started getting more aware of things I would put up an obstacle to block her view. My partner often watched things while looking after her, and actually now that she is 2 she has fallen asleep in front of the tv a couple times. They say it's better to make noise around a sleeping baby so they sleep better when older.
Honestly i cannot sleep without the TV on and noise and such. Curtesy of being in the navy and deployments lol. But my daughter co sleeps with us and she sleeps just fine with the TV on. Whether good or bad idk but she sleeps pretty well.
