@GMF Reading this makes me feel better. My babygirl is 5 weeks today and I been stressing that I don’t have a “bedtime” for her and trying to gauge when I should be putting her down for bed.
Honestly, my baby is on my pumping schedule. My last pumps land around 11-12 every night. She’ll eat about 9-10 pm and last time around 11-12 and she’s out till about 4:30-5 am. And then back out till 8-8:30 am. I’m winging it with her🤣
Eats 10 or 1030 if we can get her to wait that long.. and bed before 11 is the goal
Don’t have my own baby yet, but I’m a nanny and first kid was about 9 weeks old when I started and then the second one came along and joined his sister and me at the same age too, we started introducing a routine then bed time was 7.30 and they were sleeping through til 7am xx. They’re now 6 & 3 and that routine still works!
7 weeks pp- it varies by a couple minutes but everyday we give him a bath around 5:45-6:30 ish and finish by 7. Then we do a feed right after, story time, and put him to bed. We are usually done by 7:15-7:30 ish. So I would say 7 or at latest before 8 is his bedtime
My daughter goes to bed around 10:30-11 for the night as well, wakes up about 4-4:30 for a feeding and then down until 8. However, the hour before bedtime has been ROUGH. Shes super upset and I guess I was wondering if i should put her down earlier. Thank you for all the responses 🤍
Give it a go and see if it works, however please note you must be consistent. You might not see a difference straight away as they too, need time to adjust to the new schedule even if it’s just 30mins earlier/ later it can definitely impact them. May I ask what her day time routine is?
@Jessica I think when they drop to a predictable number of naps it’s easier to have an actual bedtime (or range). I would focus on routine more than schedule at this age.
My 2 year old goes to bed at 7:30, then baby eats and goes to bed about 8:30! ❤️ Never too early to start being super consistent with bedtime, trust me it pays off. My 2 year old has been successfully going to bed at 7:30 since a few months old and it’s the best! Gives me and hubby a great amount of alone time in the evenings, and our toddler is well rested and happy. So we plan to do the exact same with this baby! He’ll slowly transition from an 8:30 to 7:30 bedtime over the next several weeks!
I start transitioning my baby to her bedtime around 7:30-8. I feed her around 9pm and she is usually sleeping around 10-10:30. And yes, witching hour is real, typically around 5-6pm. I found that giving her the breast and a nap at that time helps a lot.
At 5 weeks it’s way too soon to have an actual “bedtime” for my daughter, especially since we also have a 3 year old we’re trying to get to bed lol. He goes to bed at 9 on weekdays so I’d say then baby goes to bed sometime after that and before 10:30? I actually prefer if she nurses a bit later like after 10 because then sometimes only have one nursing session with her that’s truly middle of the night.
