Induction

I was told I was being induced today and I was rang to come in at 6, I got to the hospital in about 30 minutes and it’s 9:30 now and no one has spoken to me or started the induction I’ve just been asked to wait in my room and was told someone would come speak to me and get me started (this was at 6:40) and I’ve had nothing since . Will they even start to induce me this late at night or will they just schedule me for it tomorrow and do I have to stay over night if they’re not even gonna start the induction till tomorrow? Any advice or information would be great x

I had similar! They started my induction at 10.30pm so it could be tonight! Good luck xx

@Eryn thankyou that makes me feel a lot better to know there’s still a chance of it happening tonight how long did it take

similar happened to me, a lot of emergencies came through though so i was pushed back a lot, eventually it happened at 11:30 x

@Katie thankyou it’s really hard sitting here and kind of being unsure if this usually happens but made feel much better knowing it’s normal to be waiting late

It’s still possible that they’ll do it tonight. They tend to slot you in for a time and end up being a few hours later.

i felt the same way! having my partner & mum pressuring me to keep buzzing the nurses and ask what’s happening was making me feel even more anxious (i didn’t because it was clear there was bigger issues🥲) i hope it all goes well!

If recommend getting some sleep if you can - once the induction starts you’ll be awake for a LONG time and then baby will be here and will keep you awake! Best of luck with it all 💜

When I had my daughter, I originally went in with reduced movements then to be told I wasn’t leaving the hospital without having her. They started my induction at 3am x

I was called in at 10am and wasn’t started till about 2pm

Inductions do continue overnight. Pop out to the desk or press the call buzzer and ask. Most shift hand overs take place around 7/8pm and then drs normally change at around 8/9pm so it’s likely delayed due to shift change overs but also emergencies happen all the time and the unit coordinator may have requested everything is on hold while things are dealt with

I was called in for 4pm but wasn’t induced till 9:30pm 🙈 they need to make sure they have room on delivery for you and that they have room for spontaneous labours coming in!

I wasn’t induced until midnight and I was called in around 5pm - hopefully your journey has began and you’re on your way to meeting bubba xxx

I was told mine was urgent as I had suspected Prom and they still made me wait 2 days before starting ! They said there was no beds and they even had to stop some people’s induction!!!
