Collecting colostrum

I used pump to get mine x

I was told to use a sterile syringe and hand express which I got from my community midwife as there could be small amounts of colostrum and it might get stuck in the pump, found it quite easy x

I used a pump as found hand expressing too tricky! The pump worked wonders and helped increase the amount I was producing, in then end I collected just over 500ml worth of colostrum in syringes from using a pump!! X

Whatever is easier for you! Personally I just hand expressed and sucked straight into syringes as it was easier and I didn't have to wash a sterilise a pump
