My daughter is 9 months old and is not crawling yet. She is doing almost the same moves you mentioned above of your son 😃
All babies do it at different times and some don’t crawl at all. My 8 month old started crawling at 8 months and 2 weeks. But she goes to daycare and watches other babies crawl which I think makes a big difference. If they crawl it is typically between 7-10 months.
So my baby started crawling like a week ago but I think the key is to leave baby on the floor as much as possible. Not just tummy time or in the playpen but everywhere in the house ( with supervision of course), that motivated him to start moving and exploring.
Tell your aunt to mind her business 🙄😂 every baby is different mama he will do it when he is ready, you can also try and crawl around him so he can see you and maybe he will try and do it
It is true that all babies develop at their own pace, and there’s definitely a wide range of what’s normal. Some start crawling as early as 5 months, others closer to 10 months. That said, I also think sometimes people rely a little too much on the “every baby is different” thing and end up brushing off signs that a baby might need a bit of support. It doesn’t mean anything is seriously wrong, but if a baby isn’t hitting certain milestones within the expected window, early intervention can really help. Sometimes they just need a little extra help to get there, and catching it early makes a big difference. If you bring it up your pediatrician can let you know if they consider your child’s progression normal or abnormal and if they think he should be in early intervention services.
Some babies, particularly chunky ones take a bit longer to get rolling and crawling. My girl still isn’t crawling, and wasn’t rolling over consistently until over 6 months. She’s been showing signs of readiness to crawl for around a week or so now, but she still isn’t crawling.
Some babies can skip crawling and go straight to standing/walking. If you’re worried though, you can talk to your paediatrician about his development 😊 9 months is when babies are generally known to crawl although some don’t until a year.
