Tantrums

How are we handling tantrums. Throwing themselves down. Turning red and screaming on the top of their lungs. I use to work at a daycare 25 years ago and it’s all a blur lol. I remember all the lesson activities we use to do so I love doing all that stuff with him. But the tantrums I don’t remember how I use to handle those.

it’s so hard . i try to let it pass but im right next to him and try to make sure he knows he’s not alone by holding his hand or touching his leg so he knows im w him. it passes eventually but i also try to redirect

He gets so frustrated his first instinct is to bite something close by so hard and pull. And then scream bloody murder. I try to talk to him and calm him down but it’s hard. I walk away and let him calm down and he will come find me and snuggle. He’s def trying to test me.

Walk away. My girl is inconsolable. She has to let those giant emotions out b4 I can try approaching her again

Depends why he’s having a tantrum lol if it’s because I took the toy away after he was repeatedly banging it on the tv then I usually try to show him something else to do. Like look at these other toys or activities over here but I don’t give that toy back. If it’s because he wants me to pick him up while I’m cooking I’ll put him in the highchair or on a chair next to me and let him watch. I try to meet him half way I guess. No can’t hold ya but you can do this. If nothing is working then sometimes it’s just lots of crying until what I need to do gets done.
