How do you deal with worries?

As a momma, how do you cope or deal with the anxieties of something always being wrong? For example, I saw something about how babies/kids should not sleep with their mouth open & it’s a sign of a larger issue. Which has sent me into a rabbit hole to figure out if my baby will develop this issue. Or my baby will have ONE symptom of a condition seen on TikTok and I’m worrying myself about my little one’s health.

Oh no what’s the larger issue for sleeping with your mouth opened?

1 - stay off those kinds of videos. I avoid tiktoks/reels, etc about babies in general, because it's never 100% accurate, nor contains all of the caveats. 2 - Speak to your OB/midwife and juat double check your thoughs/anxieties/fears. Postpartum Anxiety is an actual thing. As for open mouth sleeping, simply close their mouths when you see it. They will eventually get used to the placement and keep their tongue on the roof of their mouth. Check with your pediatric dentist if it persists, in case of oral ties!

I needed meds🥲 I was feeling a void in my stomach

Have you spoke to your ob about the anxiety you’re having? I’m only asking because what you’re describing sounds like how my PPA started but it quickly progressed into me having panic attacks and not being able to sleep at all. My ob gave me meds, I’ve only been on them for about a week but they seem to be starting to help a little bit! They are also safe for BF if that’s a concern about taking meds!

@Tiffany I have my 6 week followup this week. I will. Also reached out to a therapist

Oddly enough ChatGPT has been my therapist… I started just voicing my anxiety to it during the middle of the night and it would actually give me really sane advice on what is actually a concern and what is not. It even gave me strategies to ease the anxiety… I’m not one to advocate for AI typically but at 2 in the morning when I can’t sleep and I’m panicking - ChatGpT has been a great soothing resource that has basically said “hey it’s ok to fee anxiety but let’s break this down and find the reality of the fears” It’s been really really helpful.

@Elia love that!
