my daughter is 6 months and started weaning last week. it's going pretty well but after a while she starts crying uncontrollably and soooo loudly! anyone else had this? is it a sign she isn't quite ready? it's very stressful😅

I read an advice from someone in here to give a bottle about 30 minutes before a meal when you're weaning as my boy could get quite frustrated but I know he's ready. Giving him a small bottle so he's not too hungry made a difference. He can still get frustrated but usually well into the meal so I take that as him not wanting more x

Start off with one meal a day and small amount and each week build it up. She could be over fed. Every month introduced another meal but in small amounts and build it up every week. At 6 months it’s a must you feed them and once started you can’t go back. The reason is because it helps with there development and need more substantial food. Not feeding them is only stoping there development to improve and will course problems in the future.

thanks both. i don't think i'm overfeeding her, she's only having very small amounts at the minute as we only started last week. maybe it's just what you're saying @Liv about not wanting more because it is after a little while, could just be that she's getting tired of it at that point. i don't remember this happening with my eldest, so just thought i'd check here! thanks again!

@keisha on some days he'll only sit down for a few minutes and others he'll sit for longer but I definitely found that he will sit for longer if he's not too hungry as milk is still his main nutrition x
