Where’s your placenta located? This makes a big difference. I had anterior with my first, movements were inconsistent and I was always at MAU. Second pregnancy I had a posterior placenta so could feel movements a lot more and earlier on in pregnancy, when it was inconsistent I went to MAU. They’d rather see you than not. As soon as you’re attached to the CTG baby will move, they love to test us!

Nope it’s normal, I started to have a patern more in the 3 trimester like at 30 weeks or so. Also the patern it’s not always the same as it depends on what you’re doing and what you’re eating. Usually if you’re working and standing on your feet, this movement puts the baby to sleep so the baby will move less. If you are resting, laying on the sofa usually the baby is more active. If you eat sugar the baby will be active as well. If you’re hungry and not eating the baby will kick you.

@Nicoleta I think this advice regarding the pattern was solely based on your personal experience. With my second born I had a clear pattern of movement from 22 weeks, so this advice could be dangerous, I would suggest OP speaks to her midwife or goes to her maternity unit if she is concerned

I got told you’ll either have a set pattern day to day or baby will be more sporadic. My baby was always here there and every where, never a set time, just usually when I chilled out abit. He’s 10 months old now 🥰

Hi, I had an anterior placenta and had non/ very inconsistent movements throughout my whole pregnancy and at 28 weeks they decided on daily CTG appointments and later on an induction was advised due to the amount of times I’d had reduced/no movements, all went smoothly and baby is now 12 weeks. If your ever worried getting checked is the best thing to do and don’t feel like your going to often i was there daily for weeks and always was treated great 😊

I never really had a pattern at all, if I felt like I hadn't felt anything for a while then I went and got checked, did it twice and all was fine, he always moved loads while hooked up of course. So I got used to him moving a bit less in the morning probably because he was sleepy!

Nope it's normal. I don't think you get a routine of movement at this stage.

@Nina all of the information I shared is what midwife told me. And if you do a quick google search even chat gpt you’ll see it’s not something to be concerned unless obviously the baby stopped moving completely or OP is concerned but I don’t want her to panic if there’s still movement just not an exact every day pattern. Still Not a Fully Predictable Pattern • Some babies start to show a daily rhythm, but it’s not expected to be perfectly regular until around 28 weeks. • More movement at night or when you’re relaxing • Less when you’re active (your motion can rock baby to sleep) Baby’s Sleep-Wake Cycles Are Developing • Your baby sleeps for 20–40 minutes at a time, so it’s normal to have quiet periods. • As long as you’re feeling some movement every day, that’s a good sign. What You Should Watch For: • A noticeable increase or decrease in movement is worth noting. • By now, you should be feeling daily movement—if not, or if it slows dramatically, check with midwife.

Thankyou ladies really helpfull

I’m 24 weeks and have no pattern yet
