Crib help

Hey there! I’m really in need of some advice. I exclusively breastfeed and co sleep with my 9 month old baby. Sleep has been really rough for us for a while now, he’s waking so much through the night and nursing so much., we’re both so uncomfortable but he refuses to sleep alone. My husband and I have been trying to get him to sleep independently. It takes me over an hour to get him down and I have to lay with him and nurse and he won’t let me leave but when my husband puts him down and I nurse prior he goes down within 10mins.. so that’s what we’ve been doing. He is now crawling and pulling to stand, and our bed is now unsafe as he’s pulling up on the side rail and almost falling and trying to crawl off the bed, we have a crib and I swear have tried everything and he will nottt sleep in there. I’ve tried putting him down awake but drowsy, sound machine on, pitch black. Tried music and lights for him to be distracted and watch. A blanket he knows is his and uses in the car seat that smells like him and I (take away when fallen asleep) ugh he just won’t do it. In growing more concerned by the day, I have so much anxiety putting him down for naps unless I’m holding him cause I’m worried he’s gonna get hurt. Does anyone have ANY advice?

Here are a few suggestions: -maybe start by having him sleep in a crib in your room for a while and slowly transitioning him to his room -spending more time in his room so he understands that it's a safe space -giving him a piece of clothing you've worn so he can smell you -if he has a paci or favorite toy, that may help self sooth -i know some people are against this but we used the ferber sleep training method at 15 months and it worked miracles.

What do you mean by “he just won’t do it”? My advice would be if you want him to be able to sleep in an independent sleep space, you’ll want to sleep train using a specific method. Follow it exactly for at least a week. I have a guide for parents on how to do all kinds of sleep training methods if you’re unsure on exactly how and what your options are.
