Tips on cooking small amounts of rice

Hi all I'm okay cooking larger amounts of rice but am unsure how to cook smaller amounts ie for just my LO to eat with his meal or just for two of us. I worry about undercooked the rice as this can be harmful? I tend to use the Tilda microwave packets of rice for him when I don't need large amounts of rice but feel bad it's not fresh as it's so easy to make. Any tips or timing would be appreciated

If you hold you hand out flat and curl it up slightly into a bowel shape that is half a portion. For LO make a fist around the rice for their portion. Rice usually takes 20 mins to cook, like pasta does. I usually only just make enough rice for the 3 of us 😂

No clue either. You can get the tilda boil in the bag sachet things, but they always come out kinda mushy for me.. following in the hope someone knows!

Do you do the 2:1 method to cook rice? Cook it 1: .5 for a smaller ratio. 1 cup of water for half a cup of rice.

I use the same method to cook rice no matter the quantity. I usually take a lot of extra water and bring it to a boil- no need to measure just use your approximation based on the rice. After boiling I cook for a few more mins and drain the excess water. Also, stir it in between and check the grain using a spoon. The rice always comes out perfect. You can also use a pressure cooker

We freeze any leftover made rice and then reheat as normal. Rice here is 1:1. We do not drain as above we eat rice every day and we don’t drain, we use the absorption method where we cook it for 20mins on med then turn off flame then leave lid on for another 20mins before we open it so it absorbs the rest. Usually I cook 3:3 so 3C to 3C water. So 2 people would be 1:1 and it comes out perfect every time.

I make 1 cup of rice which is enough for about 4 servings. 1 cup rice, 2 cups water. A half cup should be good for baby rice for the day. Bring to boil, put lid on, turn to low, cook for 15-20min
