@Gemma she has been in her toddler bed for almost a year now but part of the battle is getting her into bed in the first place she just out right refuses 😅😅 i will try that though once she first gets into bed thankyou! Xx
I think at this age they are just testing out boundaries and seeing what they can get away with. Try do a story in bed and then saying it’s now time to sleep, I’ll see you in the morning and then give an hug/kiss and say night before leaving and then do what I said above. In the morning give lots of praise to her for staying in her bed as that will help too. Good luck x
My little girl went through a phase on refusing to sleep in bed… she would sleep by the baby gate 😅 I’d move her into bed when asleep but she’d go back there… went in for around a month but now she’s in bed with no issues! Girls are incredibly stubborn 😅🤣 I would say you could try and sticker chart, but I’m not sure if they’re still a little too young to understand the concept yet! Xx
@Gemma yeah she is definitely testing more boundaries recently and seems to all be linked together, thankyou again I will give this a good do! Xx
@Natalie funny you should say that actually we have to take her mattress off the bed and put it on the floor now (at her request) which actually helped for a few nights but although she still wants that it’s not persuading her to get into bed anymore 😅😅 xx
@Lauren they are so funny and stubborn at this age 😆 I thought maybe she was sleeping by the gate because she liked seeing the hallway…… So we move the bed so when she was in bed she could see out the door… Didn’t help… she just wanted to sleep on the floor 🤣 I just thought if she was really that uncomfortable, she would get up and get back into her bed… and a month or so later… she did and now she stays in bed all night xx
@Natalie so funny 😂😂 they really are hilarious, I give my girl 10/10 for creativity with these excuses 😂😂 she rolls out of bed on purpose then shouts us to let us know she ‘needs help because she has fallen out of bed’, the other day she even threw a teddy down the stairs then shouted us she ‘dropped her teddy’ 😅 , She actually went of abit easier last night but we we will see 😂 xx
Is she still in a cot or in a bed now she can get out of? With my eldest when she was this age she went through a stage of coming out her bed and the best thing that worked for me was the first time she got out of bed I would put her back and say it’s bed time and then anytime after that I would put her back and not say anything. She soon realised she wasn’t getting any attention so eventually gave up and went to sleep. The first night I stayed just outside her room and over the next few nights I gradually went further away and I would say it maybe took about 4/5 bedtimes but it eventually just clicked for her x
