Once waters go.... you wait for contractions to start. They usually ramp up after that. Especially if it's a gush of water. So you ring hospital and see what they want you to do.
Both times mine just “popped” and went everywhere so there would have been no time to get to a toilet and honestly a pad wouldn’t absorb it all haha
If they’re slow waters, like a trickle, then yes wear a pad. Mine all came out at once but my friend had a slow “leak” 😂.
If it’s a partial break or slow waters you would put a pad in, once it’s a complete break though it just gushes out and is done very quickly. I had a partial, wore a pad to the hospital, then had them broken there
I had a gush. Was in hospital already so just waited for it to pass then used a pad - but at that point, it's pretty much all gone with a gush!
I had a big gush but was already in labour in hospital so just went all over the bed 🤪
I didn’t have a gush but it tricked out with each contraction (they were 5 mins apart by this point). I wore a pad and it caught it all. No mess. Just full pads
Thanks for the messages, really appreciate it. For everyone saying that they had a gush, if it was at your house was it easy to clean? Is it clear or bloody?
Mine was clear like water
Mine was gushing out for half an hour in the kitchen I couldn’t move 🤣 still going in the car (20 mins drive) and still going when I got to the hospital😂
It was clear and easy to clean up, I would recommend a waterproof mattress protector though!
I is can only say from my personal experience but mine broke in one go, as in a lot of liquid (like you have wet your self) then nothing afterwards.
