With my first, my waters broke during labour and it was loads! Shocked me how much. With my second my waters were leaking from a sweep and it was still quite decent little gushes, I could just feel it constantly leaking out also.. so I think you will know if it's anything like mine was xx
You will definitely know!
With my first I woke in the middle of the night as I felt a trickle of something. There wasn’t much and we weren’t sure whether to call the hospital or not, but did in the end and they said to come in and get checked. So I had a shower and was packing up the rest of my hospital bag just incase when I suddenly had a huge gush of waters. It wasn’t all of it though as it continued over the next couple of days (ended up staying in hospital) particularly when I was having contractions!
You will definitely know! But not everyone’s waters break at the beginning. Mine didn’t go until I was in the active pushing stage of labour so right at the end.
with my first i had a slow leak and just kept feeling as if i was weeing, wasn’t until i actually got to the reception desk at the hospital that they actually fully burst😂
This is my 4th and my waters have never broken ‘like the movies’ with my first they broke when I was well in established labour. 2 and 3 they were broken for me as induction. I’m told you just know but also be prepared for them not to but you’ll know your in labour. 🙈😂 I knew when I was in labour even from the early twinges with 1 and 2. 3 was hormone drip so I defo knew 😭😭
With my first I had a leak for a few days but it was too light for them to think it was my waters, baby came 3 days later very quickly and 3 weeks early so I don’t think it’s always obvious. When the rest of my waters came out during labour though it was a big gush from what I remember!
I'm a second time mum and still asked this recently of my midwife as I've had very watery discharge lately. My waters didn't break until well into labour first time. She said it'll either be very obvious, or if it were to be coming as a trickle, wear a pad and if it fills up, you know it's your waters and not discharge x
