BF Weaning

I think my milk has dried up. I know that I need to stop BF my twins before my partner goes back to work, more so for logistical reasons but I’m not quite ready to give it up just yet. Is there anything I can do to get my milk supply back… even if it’s just to pump and make up a supply to keep in the freezer for future use??

How long have you not been feeding them? Try pumping and see if anything comes out. It is possible to bring it back but it’s hard work.

I feed them myself twice a day but they don’t latch for very long anymore… I try to pump but my partners mum comes round a lot and I’m not sure she’d appreciate me feeding/pumping when she’s here

Can you go to your bedroom to pump? Or would you feel awkward doing that as well? You can probably still get your supply up if you wanted to but you would need to latch or pump more often. Maybe in the evenings before bed or first thing in the morning. Those times were often easiest for me because my husband was still home and able to help with my daughter.

@Sarah I’d probably feel awkward and I know that’s stupid because it’s my house and she should just accept that I’m feeding my babies I’ll try pumping first thing or last thing. Thanks

@Shannon no it’s totally valid to feel awkward. I visit my in laws frequently because they live near my mom as well (4 hours away). I would pump at my in laws because I had an over supply. I felt so awkward putting milk in the fridge or freezer (I was also trying to transition my daughter to a bottle). My mother in law breastfed for at least a little bit, but my husbands cousin who had a baby at the same time as me was adamant about formula feeding. I never breastfed in front of my mother in law, but did feed my baby in the car while she was also in it. Definitely felt awkward. I’m hoping to be more brave with baby #2
