Having tubes tied/removed during C-section

I'm having an elective C-section this time, due in June. This is our second baby, and is definitely the last. My consultant mentioned sterilisation at my last appointment, which isn't something I've seriously considered before mainly because I thought it wouldn't be an option with me only being 29. I'm just wondering what people's experiences have been? Any complications? Any issues after the procedure? I've always used hormonal contraception and am keen to move away from adding more hormones into my body if possible, so am seriously considering it. Any input would be great

I have two emergency c section one in 2020 and now 2025

@Jilissa hi, how did you have two emergency c sections? Were you induced? I’m due my second soon so trying to decide what to do.

Because my sons come before time

@Chelsey I know someone who was sterilised and still has to use condoms as there is a chance of getting pregnant. I also know someone else who did this after her second baby and regretted her decision as she decided she wanted a third after and couldn’t have one

My sister was sterilised when having her last c-section, she has had 3. She said “nothing different, no complications”, doesn’t use any contraception
