Refuse taking bottle (breastmilk)

5 months old baby boy stop taking bottle since he was 3 months and half, which before he took it combo with nursing. We tried to offer him bottle but he doesn’t drink the milk from bottle at all besides just play with the nipple and avoiding. Our pediatrician said if mum away and he will surely drink the milk from bottle, that how she promised us. What do you think about this? Will baby really take bottle when I’m away? How can I make him accept bottle again? Should I stop nursing him completely? I’m sorry for this long but I’m so frustrated.

mine did the same thing for a while. i was using mum but i tried literally every other bottle brand trying to get her to take it. we finally tried the evenflo wide neck bottles and she did so much better with them! it still took a week or so to really learn how to do it, but the wide latch was a much better option.

@rielley people keep suggesting me for the evenflo and I will try as well. Do you still nursing him or exclusive bottle feeding?

My baby refused bottles around 3 ish months just wanted from the breast specifically bc that’s their natural instinct breast is more soothing to them & can be multipurposed for them. She will take a bottle not right away have to coax her & I have to be out of her sight most of the time for her to take it.

Are your bottles in the fridge before giving them to him or are they freshly pumped? If they’re refrigerated you might have developed high lipase, fresh milk you can’t taste it as much but it comes out more when chilled
