C section fitness

I’m 4 weeks post op with my c section. I know recovery is 6 weeks, however I’m wondering how long people have left it before returning to the gym or getting back running? And what exercises you started off with and how long is was before you could do all the things at the gym you could do before the operation.

Heya, I’m a pre/ postnatal trainer. As Hayley has said, a c-section is major surgery. I typically wouldn’t expect a client to get back to exercise until 12 weeks post and doctor sign off. If you’re eager to be moving again, don’t underestimate walking! Honestly, just get outside 🙂. You can also get going with your pelvic floor exercises right away. I’m sorry I’m not saying yes you can start right away or even really soon, as I know how frustrating it is having to wait 💖. I hope this helps but if you have ANY questions at all, please feel free to dm me. C xx

I had a c section and didn't do anything until 8 weeks post

Im 16 weeks.pp c-section and have made the job of recovery much more difficult because i was so active before i was properly healed. Dont rush it. Some basic stretch exercises will be more than enough. X

I’m in the same boat, I’m 4 weeks in to recovery after my C Section and I’m itching to get out and run. I’ve been on walks but it’s just not itching that scratch x

They recommend 12 weeks before slowly returning to running after a vaginal birth. Definitely don’t rush your return friends who did have had longer term issue.
