No - unfortunately they can’t. My husband had to come back at 8am and stayed till the evening x
Partners can stay constantly during induction/which involves ward 1. It is only 1 partner at one time permitted during induction, (ie. Mum & partner can chose to swap over) I was admitted on ward 1 with my waters broke at 21 weeks in June 2024; and there there till my son passed away at 3 weeks old in August. After birth it depends what ward you’re on, NICU you’re both allowed on, 24/7 access. Children may also visit with parental consent 3pm-4pm / 6pm-8pm. Visiting rules have changed from 25 November 2024!! We welcome one chosen adult (birth partner) to support on the wards between 8am and 10pm. One child (sibling) can attend with the chosen adult (birth partner), however, there is a maximum of one chosen adult (birth partner) and one child (sibling) at any one time.
When having an induction of labour or early labour admission to Ward One, one chosen adult (birth partner) is welcome to visit or be present at all times to support. Between 2pm and 5pm and 6pm and 7pm, a maximum of two visitors or support people can be welcomed to a bedspace (either 2 adults or one adult and one sibling). This is straight from the birmingham women’s website, but during surgery to maintain my pregnancy in February, I noticed they bent the rules abit, there was visitors for an extra hour or two on ward 8/4th floor. This will be my third pregnancy with birmingham womens. Also it does REALLY depend on what midwife you have.., and you’re circumstances🤷🏻♀️
I had a c section for example with my last son, but before this my partner was actually sleeping in the hospital bed with me on delivery suite..I was told that was fine?they let him in etc.. this was when i was being told to terminate my pregnancy due to my waters breaking early though.. again depending on circumstances i believe
I gave birth in Feb after he arrived both partner and my mom were allowed to stay with me until I went to the ward then the day after 8-7 for partners and 12-3/5-7 for guests x
I was in Birmingham women’s a couple weeks ago, once given birth visiting hours for anyone else is 2-5 then 6-7 and partners 8am-10pm x
I was there in October 2023 and sadly they don't allow it :( think visiting hours were either 8am-7pm or 7pm-8am.
